all about having fun

i know, i know.

most malaysians do not celebrate halloween. it's neither part of our custom nor tradition. however, when do we need custom to have fun? yesterday night was all about that - having fun. who cares what the occasion marks or what it is suppose to represent. to this big kid, it was just another excuse to dress up, let my hair down and go crazy a little. true, i could have let the kids dress up in their halloween costumes and just act the part of chaperon, but where is my share of the fun? what is the point of life if we don't have fun along the way?

last night was a hoot! the time was right. the place was right. most of all, the mood was right. there were little spiders, firemen, witches and wizards, ghosts, skywalkers (anakin or luke, i wouldn't know), devils, fairies, princesses, pumpkins, draculas.....anything that rocks your imagination. one mother came in her bathrobe, complete with the towel around her hair! how is that for imagination!

the children ran from door to door, ringing on bells for their treats. watching them light up with excitement and happiness, i was grateful to be a part of it - the energy, the silliness, the variation from our daily routine. an opportunity not to be that old grumpy responsible adult we have all grown up to be.

it was a wonderful evening.

next halloween, do we have a date? Posted by Picasa

I can certainly say that we do have a date next year! WE must decide on a theme and dress up again. Any reason to get together, feast and dress up is good enough for me.

you are officially the first person to comment on this blog! congratulations!! *pat on the back* yes, we must convince the houseowner to loan us the use of her house every year, come halloween. or otherwise, just entrance to the property will suffice *grins*

YES definitely, may each coming year be more fun and more memorable. I'm always up for a good laugh, just bribe Queen Armidala with more KFC :)...oops Queen Armidala impersonator only valid for 1 year. hehehe

i am humbled by queen amidala's presence in our blog. bow to the queen. your highness, we'll just have to come up with more outrageous costumes each year. but perhaps next year, something with a little more ventilation and a little cooler? *grins*

I love those pictures. A really good and fun Halloween this year. Getting bigger and bigger each year. At least I know I came as three different character every year. Ahhhhhh.....who will I come next.....until next year ladies

dear evy: i know, coming up with the costume is half of the fun. we should invent more occasions to be silly, instead of wait for the halloween each year!

dear dave & mei: haha. that's the fun in it. if we dress like barbie doll and sweet cinderella, halloween is going to be so boring. i should have stood quietly by the roadside come nightfall. bet there'll be lots of car crash! hahahaha.
